L.I.F.E – Learning Incredible Skills For Everything Join us in February 2020!

Wow! Where did Term One go? Seems like time goes by so quickly that we barely have time to reflect on life let alone set our kids up for future success in all things life-related!!

As I take a few minutes to ponder “life” I thought I’d check in to be sure that everyone is aware of a practical and supportive program being offered to our special education and learning support students in the Greater Victoria and Southern Vancouver Island area this year.

Term One of our L.I.F.E. classes was amazing with a focus on Social Communication Skills and Food Prep. Everyone had a great time and gained some valuable skills!

If you have a teen who you feel would benefit from more social thinking skills, managing their money, taking care of a home (laundry, dishes, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping, vacuuming, windows, etc.), boundaries and more please contact me (msmith@rcoa.ca) or Andrew Easson (aeasson@rcoa.ca) as soon as possible. Even if you just want to find out a bit more about the purpose and content of these classes, don’t hesitate to get in touch. Terms 2 and 3 costs are pro-rated and subsidized through our special education department.

We have a few available spaces at both the grades 7-9 and the 10-12 levels as we head into Term 2. The instructors are looking forward to addressing more L.I.F.E. focused topics in a hands-on and engaging way.

Our hope is to see these classes expand into other communities so even if you are not in the Victoria or southern Vancouver Island area, please let us know of your interest. This helps us in planning for Term 3 and for next year. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

We are sorry to inform you that our Learning Services program is now full for the 2021-2022 school year.  We strive to provide the best possible support for all of our families, and due to an overwhelming response, all of our resources are at capacity.  This means that at this time we are unable to admit any new learners with KPQ or R designations or other learners requiring learning support assistance.

We don't take it lightly that you reached out to us.  We will keep your name on the waitlist in case there are some withdrawals, but we recommend that you seek other arrangements for your Fall programming.

Blessings to you as you plan your year
