High School Face-to-Face Highlights!

We love the opportunity to be face-to-face with our learners and this term has been full of such opportunities!  Fridays are our activity days which means grade 8-12 learners are welcome to sign up for the activities of interest to them.   In the new year, we look forward to skiing/boarding/snowshoeing, science labs, Playland Physics at the PNE, a three-day retreat at Camp Imadene, and so much more.  Click here for details.

This month RCOA students built gingerbread houses in Culinary Arts, visited Craigdarroch Castle, made 3D models of Canada, constructed Frankenstein Circuits in STEM, played festive math games, dissected hearts, made stained glass and presented Heritage Projects.  We are continually blessed by the freedom and flexibility to offer unique face-to-face opportunities while partnering with our families.  Thank you for gifting us with the honour of getting to know your children.  We are excited to see what God has prepared for us in 2019.

Our Vancouver Aquarium activity includes a photo journal contest.  Participation in the contest is optional and each year we receive some amazing entries!  The winner of the 2018 Aquarium Photo Journal Contest is Kaitlyn Botha.  Her prize-winning photographs can be viewed at this link.  Have look!  She did a wonderful job of demonstrating her learning through images and text.  Congratulations Kaitlyn!

Learners ran into Scuba Santa at the Vancouver Aquarium Aqualab and again at the Learn to Curl event in Chilliwack.  Apparently, Santa has become an expert curler and diver in his free time.  Despite the Santa, invasion we remember that Jesus Christ is the reason for our celebration at Christmas time: God’s greatest gift and an offer of peace, joy, hope, and love through his son. Emmanuel, God with us!
