Gr. K-7: Classes, Clubs, Explorations and More!

Our enrolment in our face-to-face (in-person and virtual) programming is continuing to grow! We’re excited to be able to offer so many options for this fall.

Gr. 5-7:  Virtual French Explorations Class
We’ve often had requests for support in teaching French, and we’re happy to share that we’ve just added a Virtual French Explorations Class for grades 5 – 7.  This class will fully cover the French Learning Standards for your child’s grade level.  Classes will run Tuesdays from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. and will align with Community Class weeks (21 sessions, 7 per term). This class will be taught by RCOA teacher Tegan Jaszczyszyn, who has a background in French immersion.

  • Speaking, reading, and writing through live conversations and at-home projects
  • Course content will closely align with Duolingo content so that learners can practice independently throughout the week
  • Cost:  $150.00 for RCOA-enrolled learners, $200.00 for RCOA-registered learners, and $250.00 for non-RCOA learners

Gr. 3-7:  Online Book Clubs
We are once again offering online Book Clubs for grades 3 – 4 & 5 – 7 and are adding an online Writing Club for grades 5 – 7Our Book and Writing Clubs will be led by our very own Nikki Bergstresser, a published children’s author. Participants can sign up for one or more terms. The cost is $40.00 for RCOA-enrolled learners, $50.00 for RCOA-registered learners, and $60.00 for non-RCOA learners. Nikki has two children’s books: Seasons for Stones and coming soon, Lila Lou’s Little Library.

Sign Up Soon!
Some of our classes and clubs are full or close to full, so we encourage you to sign up soon if you are interested in any of these options. Throughout July, we will be evaluating our programs and making decisions about which programs to run or duplicate. If the program you signed up for doesn’t run, we will contact you to give you an opportunity to select an alternative.

Sign Up in OTIS
Log in to OTIS, click Face to Face Opportunities, go to the class you are interested in, and click the ‘details’ button on the right-hand-side of the page. If you have friends not with RCOA who would like to participate, they can email for more information or to sign up.

Thank you for visiting our site.
We are glad you did!

We are sorry to inform you that our Learning Services program is now full for the 2021-2022 school year.  We strive to provide the best possible support for all of our families, and due to an overwhelming response, all of our resources are at capacity.  This means that at this time we are unable to admit any new learners with KPQ or R designations or other learners requiring learning support assistance.

We don't take it lightly that you reached out to us.  We will keep your name on the waitlist in case there are some withdrawals, but we recommend that you seek other arrangements for your Fall programming.

Blessings to you as you plan your year
