From the Pen of Our Principal – The Gift of Prayer

Hope was one of six puppies from our litter this fall. Our boys badly wanted to keep her but for many reasons, it didn’t look promising. I suggested we ask God to guide us and we set out together for several days to be intentional in our prayer time to seek the Lord. I loved hearing their requests to our Saviour to “make it clear to mom and dad” that we were to keep this puppy and “if it [isn’t] Your will, Jesus” to make that clear as well. As it turns out, the Lord did give us the go-ahead to keep her and we are all so grateful.

During the Christmas season, we want to give our children meaningful gifts that show how very much we love them. Through our puppy Hope, I was reminded that the best gift I can give my children is to teach them to hear God through prayer. Even the addition of a puppy is worthy of seeking God’s counsel.

Blessings to you during this special time of year when we take a break from normal routines and can be intentional about the memories we make with our families. May your family be blessed by the closeness with God that comes through the beautiful gift of prayer.

Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. ~Jeremiah 29:12-13

A very Merry Christmas to each of you,
