Bringing Learning Outside through Outdoor Explorations

What an amazing and glorious world God has created for us! That is what we are exploring in this first term of Outdoor Explorations in Ladysmith. We have been blessed to find a gem of a location at Holland Creek Park full of majestic trees of all kinds, curious stumps, a babbling creek, and stunning waterfalls, just to name a few. In our first two classes, we have been focusing on animal and hiking safety and learning about the native fauna and flora by using all of our senses. We are touching all textures, looking at all the amazing colours, smelling the freshness of the forest, hearing the soft sounds of the wind and birds, and tasting the sweet, clean air He has made for us!

Every class we take time to journal what we are experiencing through drawings, poems, verses, and words. We stop often to share with each other the wonders we are seeing and we always take time for free exploration in each location we find ourselves. We will be spending two classes per term at Transfer Beach learning about coastal ecosystems and discovering the many hidden treasures found there. Our time at these two locations over the year will give us a picture of the ever-changing landscapes of our region. We are thrilled to be learning alongside this awesome group of learners who see God’s world in an eye-opening and awe-inspiring way!

11 Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it. 12 Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy. Psalm 96:11-12

IMPORTANT  ADMISSIONS UPDATE

We are sorry to inform you that our Learning Services program is now full for the 2021-2022 school year.  We strive to provide the best possible support for all of our families, and due to an overwhelming response, all of our resources are at capacity.  This means that at this time we are unable to admit any new learners with KPQ or R designations or other learners requiring learning support assistance.

We don't take it lightly that you reached out to us.  We will keep your name on the waitlist in case there are some withdrawals, but we recommend that you seek other arrangements for your Fall programming.
